Info
Energite is a new, rare orange-colored crystal ore found below 24 blocks found in veins of 3-5. This ore glows orange, much like Redstone ore, although permanently.
How to mine
Energite must be mined with Iron, Energite or Diamond tools. Energite must also be mined with the top surface covered in water or else the block will explode in a 2 block wide radius, dropping nothing. The explosion also detonates nearby Energite ore blocks (5 block radius) and supercharges creepers.
How to use
You can make the crystals into armour by surrounding a piece of Leather armour in Energite crystals. The armour is as durable as Iron armour but with the added bonus of damaging any mob that you touch at the cost of 2 units of durability.
You can also create Energite tools with it that have the durability Iron tools with an added effect (usable by right clicking) The effects vary between tools
Pickaxe - Mines at 3x rate, uses 4x durability
Sword - Hold to charge for 3 seconds, release to explode (Deals 5 damage to mobs, 2 damage to you), uses 10x durability
Axe - Cut down an all wood/leave blocks within 4 blocks of where you click (Leaves have double chance to drop saplings), 2x durability/block mined
Hoe - Make farmland and plant seeds if you have some in your inventory.
Shovel - Mines at 3x rate, uses 4x durability
Energite tools may seem a bit overpowered but they have a drawback - when they break, they explode into a 5 block-wide explosion that does 3 damage to all mobs and players within the blast radius, setting mobs on fire and supercharges creepers.
Energite can also be used as a Redstone substitute, although active wires cause half a heart of damage per second when stepped upon.
Additional Notes
Energite explosions are colored orange, representing the energy held within the crystals

YOU HAVE JUST CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE HUMAN RACE. You rock.
me and my bro valtex13 would like to use this in a mod we are thinking of making, we needed a redstone substitute for one of our items and would you let us use it? also we were thinking the current should go farther than redstone(up to twenty)and could we do some edits to somethings as the mod comes along i will keep you posted if you let us
I don't think water should be required to mine it considering liquids strengthen explosions. I think if you use anything less then an iron/diamond pick it should explode(due to lack of quality). Instead of using it for tools and armor I would use it for some mechanical device instead. I dislike all the nuclear ideas but this would be a cool version of a nuclear idea.
Maybe Energite could be used to make a compact clock so people don't have to make big ones for projects(not the golden clock but a series of redstone devices set to pulse at a certain rate).
It would probably look like a blinking battery thing on the ground and would be a new addition to redstone devices.

This is in suggestions forum.
Anyway, I like the ideas!
I have nothing to add, it's well thought out and awesome!
It's a suggestion...
