- Each time a chracter levels up, he/she unlocks certain blueprints, which enable easy/faster creation. At the bottom of the crafting table grid would be a button that says: blueprints. Each time a character levels up, they unlock specific blueprints (maybe for armour, weapons, or whatever they need to get to the next level) This would all be arranged by category in the blueprint menu.
2. INCREASED HEALTH****
-Duh
3. HARDER MOBS****
-also duh, the game isn't as difficult if everything else stayed the same
****2&3 this is how 80% of all video games work. If you don't wanna fight, play easy or peaceful.
4. DRAGONS AS TAMEABLE MOBS
- After reaching a reasonable high level, of course. If not dragons then just more tameables.
5. IRON MAN MODE
For the hardcore survivalists, 1 chance at life. The second you die, it's game over.
Health is fine the way it is. If you can't survive while walking from your mine to your house, build walls.
...what...I don't even...
And grief and kill everyone on a server? I don't think so.
Minecraft is not just meant for those who like to fight, it's meant for those who like to build as well. If you don't fight, then you don't get exp, and if you don't have exp, then you don't gain levels and thus cannot experience these perks, and if you can't get the perks, well, then Minecraft isn't for everyone then, is it?
-also duh, the game isn't as difficult if everything else stayed the same
That kills the deal.
What the hell is the point of becoming stronger if everything else does so with you? Nothing changes except for an integer.
Here's what I mean. Let's say you gain a level and are now 10% stronger. To balance difficulty, monsters are 10% stronger. You both are 10% stronger which means neither of you are any stronger than you were before. You don't have the competitive edge that gaining a level provides; you are just normal with more health.

4. Come on man, not every suggestion on the planet will be perfect.
You not only get xp from killing mobs, but achievements as well (as a result of BUILDING stuff)
Also, what would you do with the leveling system? That's why i posted, to start a discussion.
1. If you played MineCRAFT long enough, you will understand that this is useless.
2. We got armor, minecarts, and enchanted diamond swords. What more do we need for self defense?
3. Player is 10% stronger! Mob is 11% stronger! This will eventually lead up to rants.
4. And then we can grief the hell out of earth.
5. We can all ready do that.

Adding an unverifiable statistic does not make a point true; also, 80% of WHAT games? Roleplaying games? Don't make me laugh, Gygax would roll in his grave if you said that aloud.
Instead of mobs becoming harder as you gain levels (a STUPID AS HELL system), most game makers create stronger mobs in more distant untraveled locations. That way a level 1~5 player would be able to play in the level 3 zone before moving onto the more difficult level 6/8 zone and progress as he explored. I see no mention of that here. Unless THIS is what you actually meant.
Otherwise, Elder Scrolls is not 80% of all video games. Hell, it's not even a health 1% of all video games.
I think the only contender for even 1% of all video games is ANY game containing the words Mario featuring a nintendo mascot with a mustache and red hat.

I think it'd be somewhat annoying to constantly gain/lose perks from enchanting.
Well, it won't be too bad as long as you don't depend TOO much on it.
