Yeah... 2x2 square of Netherrack works for me. Like Stone Bricks, pretty much. 4:1 craft ratio. Boom, done, woohoo, I can have a nice looking building material without having to travel all around a lava-filled cave.
sence neatherrack is so comman, i would think a 4:1 ration would be good instead of 4:4 like stonebrick as for neatherrack is so comman.
To add a little "challenge" to making it (not really though), here is another possibility to making it.
= x1
= soulsand = neatherrack = neatherbrick
I like playing in survival to get resorces then build stuff, it adds challenge for me, but for big projects (like an epic neatherbase) i would want neatherbrick and neatherbrick-based-blocks. but at the same time i would rather not take apart natural structures. i acually like repairing naturally generated buildings.
But thanks for not acting like most people on the forums but instead being more polite.

if it's a 4:1 ratio then it would be like sandstone, but I think it should be a bit more than that, seeing as netherrack isn't just common, the whole nether is made of it.
that way, 9 stacks of netherrack would be needed for 1 stack of nether brick. This would allow it to be crafted, while at the same time not making it so easy that no one will ever go to a fortress to get nether brick
I think you should be able to craft NetherBrick rather then have to find it in fortresses. I think it should be crafted like this: OR THIS: Tell me what you think?
you always have to much nether rack, it would be nice to have somthing to do with it i support this idea this needs to happen.
and nether rack should need to be cooked in a furnace becuase nether brick doe not burn at all...

it should be the first recipe becuase the other one is to much nether rack and if when you craft most blockes nowdays it they only take 4 items to craft
After reading this thread, I have decided to create this poll. Decide whether or not you want a recipe, and if so, which one you want.
1. shapeless
2. shapeless
3. shaped
4. shaped
Variations include requiring blaze powder instead of a blaze rod, requiring eight netherrack instead of four, and/or the number of nether bricks the recipe outputs.
Edit: Now that threads have merged and the poll has changed, I'll just throw out there that the current poll isn't entirely accurate, and the majority of the votes were for the netherrack and stone bricks (which used to be the third option).
Why not just four Netherrack like Stone and Stone Brick?
Why does it have to include things like Blaze rods and coal?
To be truthful, I don't know how to creat item sprites. If I did, I would have made a fifth recipe involving smelting the netherrack into a new item, and using four of those for nether bricks.
The blaze rods are only in the challenging recipes, just in case people don't like the other ones, and I don't think I have coal anywhere. I've included diverse recipes to suit people of multiple interests.

But why use them? They're no harder to find naturally than stone brick can, but that can be crafted easily.
Why so complex, like "smelting it into a new item and four of those makes Nether Brick"? It's like you've overthought everything about the suggestion.

Because, that's exactly how you make stone bricks. Smelt cobblestone, then craft four of those together. If you want, though, you could just vote something else.

but i agree
True survival server, and fun!
(if you don't know yet, netherrack always burns)

I really like the nether brick and I hope Jeb add a recipe for it.

Don't need no ridiculous crafting recipe to create the Nether version of Stone Brick.
