Minecraft is in a code freeze as of right now, but yeah. Instead of this, I would rather have notch completely re-code villages and NPC's. They do not seem very....good as of now.

I think that there could also be a mob that rarely spawns near villages and attacks the NPCs
Also I like the initial 3 ideas but no big treasures, I mean look at them, they're poor
Yeah. At night, maybe the NPCs with hows, picks, and axes go inside, and the sword ones stay out. And zombies, spiders, or skellies could attack them rarley. And during the day, maybe wolves.
I just don't want the villagers to be so freaking mindless, I mean, the only sliver of AI that they have is that they walk out of the building if you open the door, besides that they're as stupid as pigs, cows, sheep, or chickens. Actually, they don't even try to run away if they get hit. I mean, I'm not trying to hate but It would be nice that they might open doors and walk out, probably walk into another ones house kind of like having a friend over, every lets say, 4 days they would all go in or around the church to make it seem like the priest is giving a sermon or something. That would make things more interesting, because at the moment, creepers are the smartest mob in the entire game, it makes no sense because villagers are supposed to be human. I just think that even though they got the whole release and stuff coming up, Notch should make some smarter villagers.

1. Maybe they could also farm melons and/or pumpkins instead of just wheat?
2. Small chests...no valuables, just like bread and string like dungeons.
3. NPCs carry wood/stone tools?
Very true...and yeah, maybe if you rob they attack you? Or at least the armed ones do...

Villagers should attack you if you steal from them or hurt them :biggrin.gif:
