I always thought the greatest threat to the player is the player. I say so because the player is in complete control of the situation, even when faced with multiple creepers. It generally boils down to quick timing vs AI; while luck is still involved; creating a persistent and unyielding threat is a tall order.
Very simply, doing so requires a great deal of gameplay tweaks and mechanics; balance and persistent overhaul. Finally, a threat will only remain so until the player conquers the challenge. In this case, the player will instinctively go toward a stronger challenge in a never-ending attempt to improve himself.
Because of these factors, I don't think that including an end-game challenge or "major threat" of any type would be a good idea. Especially due to natural propensity to surmount challenges and seek new ones.
These mobs seem stupid. You don't even describe what kind of damage they do etc, and 'Israphel' is taken from a video series on YouTube. People would get offended if God was put in as a mob (P.S I'm an atheist), and an evil version of Notch seems silly. Good try, though, but please describe the mobs more.
Doesn't matter if you're athiest if you're talking about a purely fictional fantasy game where a pantheon of super-powerful titans exist which are colloquially known as gods.
If the mention of any being of greater power offends you; then you really need to re-evaluate how you judge things. It's just as easy to ignore people as it is to take offense and it is LITERALLY impossible for someone to not offend someone else through natural normal mannerisms.
Hell, I've seen people take offense because I occasionally come off too polite.
