I would really like to see him turn the dirt we find underground and in caves to clay. IRL about three feet under the ground, in most places in the world, you will dig down and then can't easily anymore as you hit clay and it is VERY hard to dig through. IT's thick and rubbery and this is why so many civilizations build huts out of mud and clay.
Make clay nearly as hard to get through as obsidian (I said nearly) and make all dirt three blocks below sealevel be clay. Then we could build houses out of brick easier, though it would be more work to -get- the clay (unless we have a backhoe).
Just an idea I have been kicking around since having to dig up the septic tank in our back yard.
