I've been thinking, you only use slime balls for making pistons sticky right? (besides the occasional SMP server currency) Why not add to that ability.
You should most definitally be able to make other blocks sticky, for more piston usage. This wouldn't take away from the game at all, but it would be an optional choice if you feel like making blocks sticky. I'm thinking instead of putting the slime ball on via crafting table, you just right click on the surface of the block you want to put it on. This way you move multiple block in a set shape with just one piston. Or even better, after coding this the ability to move multiple pistons would work to. So you can have giant colorful space ships floating in the sky with retractable wings, or you can move a house a couple of blocks north if you like. Although moving a house may be a bit over powered for a piston, but if one piston can only move 12 block like normal would be perfect. It would simply take about 10 pistons to move a house. I've been waiting to see something like this implemented for better piston traps and constructions. I love pistons =D

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't. I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers.
I'm thinking that the coding for this could be quite difficult. That, or it would be very resource intensive. (In other words, it would be rather difficult for a computer to handle this.) Other than those two possible problems, I think that this is a good idea.
I don't think it would be too difficult. I mean, the sticky piston does it all the time!

Sticky blocks is extremely neccesary to reach full redstone potential, i'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.
make sticky pistons chain-able, that will give them much more usage

You just lost the game.

No it wouldn't.
Like how the block-breaking overlay animation works, its at the bottom. you can just have some sticky stuff on a block and it overlays
