I recently built a fence around my animal farm (1.9.4 preparation) to keep spiders from getting in, and I had an idea. What if hostile mobs tried to attack any mob that you have ever given wheat to. The chances are, if you have given wheat to a mob, it probably has some value to you. I think it would make for some cool farm security systems, and it would add a bit of extra replayability to the game.
Thoughts?

"Is this what you feared? That the sum of your life would leave you here?"
People already complain about livestock animals not spawning, they would complain even more if their farm was being plundered.
Personally I wouldn't want to have to defend my livestock 24/7 instead of exploring etc.
If this happened I would give up on livestock and stick with wheat farming.
People would basically have to have underground farms instead of natural above ground ones.
Interesting Idea. I always thought that maybe Notch should make wolves try to attack your tamed animals or maybe make a new mob that would attack them.

You wouldn't have to constantly defend your livestock, if you have a fence, the only thing that would be a threat is a spider, and if you made the fence go one block out like this:
Then it wouldn't be a problem. Also, you could get creative with it and set up elaborate defenses, maybe even having a mob grinder/farm combined.
Endermen could be a problem though, maybe they should have no interest in the mobs.
