Meh. I feel better using the cauldron as a way to store liquids. Good idea though.

This is the most sensible thing to do with them at this point, I think. Similar to the original purpose, you should be able to empty up to three potions into the cauldron in order to store them. (Note: not mixing, only storing.)
I wish they used the cauldron but with a GUI, the cauldron looks nicer and is simpler than the brewing stand. I shouldn't have to go through Hell and back just to be able to make potions :'(

Actually, you don't have to. Its your choice. But if you want to make any potions in Minecraft in 1.9 you have to go to Hell (the Nether) find some blazes and then use blaze rod(s) to make a brewing stand
