pls add this to the game or somone make a mod about this.
add a button in the multiplayer that lets you start a server :biggrin.gif: the server info will start in the .minecraft folder. the then the settings and IP will be in its own page AFTER you click start a server. then in the minecraft_server folder (inside the .minecraft folder) it will be practicly the same. but to MOD the server it should make it so instead of draging them into the jar, a mod folder reads mods that are jars. then they just drag them in and ur done :biggrin.gif:
makes it easy to start servers and makes modding servers so easy its noob work :biggrin.gif:

But how would people connect to the server? Would it automatically port-forward or start a VPN? The former would be nearly impossible as there are tons of routers and configurations.
I think Mojang may be open to this idea, as Minecraft Pocket Edition already has the option to act as a Pocket Edition server.
Terraria does this. But you have to port forward or run a VPN yourself. It just has the server software included in the game so you can start up a quick server.
And anyway, knowing how to port forward yourself is a good thing. I dispise people that use Hamachi unless they 100% absolutely have no way to access their router. And parents saying no isn't a good enough excuse.

This idea has been posted a billions times before, and I have posted about it before.
Now I shall shoot it down to remove my rivalry
-How will it support your game?
-Will you be able to play with it on?
-How will it link to others?
-Is this so hard as you cant just download the Server Jar and make your own?
-Why u no use propah gramah?
-Why u no use enta kay?

As for server wrappers, this would be extremely hard to do. Also, they would need to add a RAM selection bar for those of us who care about lag and performance. you always need to have complete control of the server, and I feel like this would remove a great measure of the control that admins (like me) care so dearly about.

Such a feature would not be something you always ran your server with. The default server client would still be there. As I've said, Terraria does this for when you want to set up a spontaneous server for having fun in for a bit, however the server world is still saved.
Server admins who want complete control, never mind you would lose no control with an in game adaption of the server software, will still get their control with the standalone software.
