Ok so tell me if this seems to far-fetched but what if minecraft had more diversity to its villages?! What if there where maybe 4 or 5 different types of villages?
I'm not saying multiple types of people or civilizations (although that would be cool to)I'm saying different sizes of villages or different house structure... post your ideas below!
Also how many of you would like to be able to interact with the NPC, like barter or become somewhat of a town leader, etc etc... post your ideas below!
p.s. If you don't post your ideas, I'LL LIGHT YOU ON FIRE! :Flint and Steel:
oh and double p.s. if you think underground places are cool check this out
now it is abandoned but its huge and the underground part is very near the middle/end of the video...but worth watching non the less!
Hey guys I just wanted to also share with you AnonTheMouse's quote which I really thought he had some great Ideas!
This would be really good! Buildings could have multiple styles and several "tiers". So, for an example, one village might make mushroom houses, another use a lot of sandstone, and others use a mix of wood and stone brick. Some construction elements could be biome specific (or at least more common in certain biomes) and others simply random. Another example would be the possibility of a house on "stilts" (fence posts). In a swamp biome, you might see these kind of houses in the water, connected by wooden walkways, but there could be a chance of "stilt houses" in any other biome, with stairs down to ground level.
Okay then...the tiers. One village might only have a single-building library. Another might have a huge one, several stories tall with stairs to upper and lower levels...even other wings and a "staff" of a dozen librarian Testificates. Essentially, buildings would have modular add-ons that might or might not be generated, sometimes more than once. Or in cases where that wouldn't work, there could just be larger or smaller versions.
There could even be certain buildings that not all villages get, such as a Witch's Hut, Alchemist's Lab, Inventor's Workshop, or Greenhouse. Some villages might also get special features, such as obelisks in a desert village, vines hanging off walls and mossy blocks in a swamp, or general things like a decorative fountain, flower garden, or Clock Tower. Some cities might be walled in one of several styles, others not, and they might have any number of watchtowers, or none at all.
As a last thought, villages with a large enough hill/mountain/cliff near them might even have active mines, which are like abandoned mines, but without the "abandoned" elements like damage, cobwebs, and spiders. They would be "worked" by Testificate miners who would attack you with steel picks if you tried to rob the mine.
oh and if you guys like my ideas, +1 my rep please, so that more people will see this and participate in our discussions! Thanks!

Well, if you put it like that, I guess I've no choice but to share my ideas.
Dwarves. Underground towns in caverns. You do the math.
All villages aren't exactly the same size but I guess they could be bigger, not sure. It would be cool if you saw a random castle every now and then, since we already have dragons in the game...

So, yeah, if you couldn't tell I really like this idea.
Don't get me wrong, I like the whole NCP village, and even grew used to the NCP's.. but that "it's ok" feeling got turned into "what the hell notch" when the Tale Of Kingdoms mod was highlighted.
That mod really shows us what Minecraft is capable of in terms of village generation (though it's not random)
The NCPs being intractable, and a currency system/shops.. after playing that, going back to Testificate and his family, also called Testificate living in their little wooden shacks which you have to dig down through gravel to get inside didn't seem as.. Cool. :sad.gif:
That's exactly how I feel, I was actually playing Tale of Kingdoms earlier

I think your idea is really cool! I was thinking about underground cavernous cities too, ever though of maybe tree house cities or large cities on the sides of mountains connected by bridges? I don't know but really anything more "cinematic" if you will to make the game more interesting!
