So here, the first idea would be mud blocks.
If you throw dirt into water (by pressing 'Q'), after a while the water will turn into mud. You can then fill your bucket with the mud. Placing it in your crafting table, if you place a dirt block above the bucket of mud, you get 3 mud blocks (and you get your bucket back!)
The mud block is good for building a sturdy house quickly while exploring, and since it looks just like regular dirt except darker, it is good for digging a hole into the ground, placing mud bricks over it, and simply digging a hole down if you ever needed to. It will have to be mined with a pickaxe, and grass can grow over it, hiding it even better.
However, placing mud bricks in a desert, not even near any water, will revert it back to normal dirt blocks. If it happens to rain, the mud bricks have a 10% chance of turning into a mud flow. But, if there is grass over it, there isn't any reason to worry.
The next one here is sand.
Any sand completely SUBMERGED in water will become wet sand, and if left long enough, will become dirt blocks. If stone is left around for too long near water, the water will erode it, and eventually turn it into sand.
If you leave eaither normal dirt or gravel in the desert for too long, it will become sand, and if you place torches all around a block of gravel, it becomes sand.
Ideas? Good? Bad? I don't really care.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
And if you're a troll, I'll build a bridge for you if you haven't got one and you can stay under it, okay?

Considering your signature, couldn't I also go to your profile and downgrade your user rating if I don't like you :3
