I have noticed something about all threads about new travel methods:
They all require either a larger crafting grid or components.
I am attempting in this post to make a balanced train suggestion that requires neither of the above.
Here is the proposed crafting recipe:
Iron, Switch, Note Block
Cauldron, Furnace, Torch
Powered Cart, Iron , Powered cart
The top is where you sit,The middle is the engine, and the bottom is the chassis.
I'm sorry for the lack of visuals, my internet isn't working properly.
Anyway, that would get you a train. Now for the stats:
Fuel comsumption: 1 Coal per 64 blocks, and 1/3 of a cauldron of water per 64 blocks, as it is powered by steam
Speed: Up to 8 Meters per second
Notable Features:
-Can pull up to 8 minecarts behind it (Brownie points for someone who can make me a mock-up of a miner in a train with 8 wolves in carts leaving a creeper far behind)
-Has a big hulking GUI which lets you:
--Detach and attach Minecarts at will
--Blow the horn, which causes passive mobss to flee
--Add more fuel in special slots, and check remaining fuel
--Turn lights on and off, lights use 1 coal per minute and produce glowstone level light
--Determine the direction the train will go in at a cross road
I am not going to suggest any more cart ideas at the time being as I don't want this Idea to get out of hand
