When you click on Mods and Texturepacks in game I believe there needs to be right next to the list of your texturepacks a list for all your mods to where you can turn them off and on as you please, providing you probably will need to restart minecraft so that it loads said mod on or off, but also it should have bars or something like the connection bars to say if it is actually working in your server.
Don't you think that's Notch's plan? That's the whole reason why he put it in there. Now, having them turn on and off in game would be tricky because mods do different things and affect different files, so it will most likely be a list of those mods and they will have their own folder like texture packs.

well yea but, theres so many mods and things having to do with them i think that needs to be a high priority then making a new mob in game.
Everyone will play the original content, but not everyone will play the mods.
Notch's pride of making a game, instead of letting the community build him a game.
Take your pick
True i understand that but, it seems like at least half if not more play the modded servers. i just think if your going to put in a program to put mods in and you made a section for it but have yet not did anything with it and released it to the public i dont know i think probably should work on it soon as you can.

the mods would have to be updated to tell the mod thread (for the lack of a better name) that it exists. Also, it would require copies of vanilla minecraft files to be present as well. In fact, the mod installation process would need to be completely redone. With some work, though, this could be my favorite suggestion so far. +1 rep.

No... I think new mob has higher priority
why do you think that?
mods will make new mobs anyways.
