Well I think my idea is pretty self explanatory. I thought it would be cool if you could paint wooden items to fit with a theme. For example, I'm a huge homestuck fan (www.mspaintadventures.com) and my favorite character is Sollux Captor. Since I'm playing on a server with other fans, a few of us decided to make some parts of our bases in homage to our favorites.
To get to my point, I'd like to be able to paint my doors, fences and chests- and any other wooden item- to keep with a color scheme. In my case, red and blue.
My idea would be to use the existing dyes, and maybe add them to a bucket of water- and it could either count as a tool with however many uses (maybe different bucket materials?) or maybe 16/32 uses for every bucket and dye
I'm sure many people obsessed with the aesthetics of their creations would agree with my idea- iron doors are a pain since they can only be opened via circuit, and wood doors don't always look right

Someone posted an idea where you put two furnaces together to smelt things and smelting color into metal would work this way.
