Has anyone tried out Minecraft 4k? If you don't know what it is, you can read the wiki. If you haven't played it, you can do so here. Basically it's a very stripped down version of Minecraft. But that's not what I'm here to talk about!
One of the first things you probably will notice is the black fog. The second thing you will notice is the low resolution (pixelated) look of the game. It gives it the feel of one of those old MS-DOS "3D" games. So I thought to myself: "I would totally love an option in Minecraft Beta to change the resolution of the game!". So I tried the next best thing, changing the monitor resolution. Sadly, technology has advanced so far that I can't even bring my monitor resolution past 800x600!
I think the best way to implement an option to change the resolution of the game (within the window), would be to add a slider that goes from 1% to 100%. It could be located in the Video Settings. At 100%, the game would be the same resolution as it's window. When you move the slider to something like 30%, the game resolution would become 30% that of the size of the window. This way you can choose the exact amount of pixelation to your liking.
Also, the gui shouldn't get pixelated, just the 3D world. Here is what I think it should look like: (with the world pixelated and the "gui" not so much)
I don't see why Notch won't implement this. If people don't like the idea, then they don't even have to change their settings! This also would give Minecraft an awesome retro feeling! :cool.gif:

After all, you are using Windows.
You just played Notch's 4k version of Minecraft. (in all it's retro pixelated glory) :cool.gif:
That won't do it, you're missing the point...
*edit: I've posted a picture. Notice how line edges aren't perfectly straight, they're pixelated.
