ok first heres my basic idea, steel, yea i know theres probably a mod for that, infact id be supprised if there isnt several, but my idea is simple, i put in an idea for copper earlier, it would allow people to make more complex criss crossing circuts, and be much more rare than redstone, well hows about making a blast furnace from some copper, iron, and an existing furnace, that uses two different fuels instead, so if you put in two coal, and an iron ore you WILL get steel.
yes i know there is probably a mod for this, i dont care, heres my real idea, wood smelted steel, in ancient india, people were able to creat, work with, and forge a special kind of steel. this steel was fueled by fire from basic wood, and it was incredibly durable, even today scientists cant replicate this product. so my idea is simple, make it so if you use wood planks to fuel the blast furnace, instead of making steel, you would make forged steel, or something like that. steel can mine quicker than gold, and diamond, it can mine diamond, but not obsidian, and just like in real life, you can make it have less durability, than iron, cuase hardened steel does break, and the forged steel would be more durable than iron, and just as good as steel. you could even make is so you would have to use a lot more wood to make this product.
if any mods have my wood forged steel idea, id be impressed, if there arent any that do this, then i dont wanna hear it.
And if "today's scientists can't replicate it", why would Steve be able to forge it in a freaking furnace? EDIT: Well it's Minecraft. What did I expect?
And no, there aren't mods for that. But there are a LOT of ideas like 'make a A ore that will be smelted into B ingots and crafted into tools better than C but worse than D. The ore can be found under E level.' At least think about some SPECIAL ability for it.

yea i know my grammer sucks, you dont need to say it like that, its not like we all have really good keyboards lol.
this is just a game, so what if scientists cant figure one thing out, its not like creepers roam the earth.
and what about gold, it cant even mine itself, but it can mine most stuff faster than diamond, why cant we have steel, especially those of use with alot extra coal, and such. you know especially since we have coal, and iron, but no steel. play runescape for awhile, you can make steel on this game using two coal and an iron ore, yet noone complained about it. i think before anything we should be able to make more with what we already have before before adding more stuff in.
Source on this information please? I'll have you know the steel was not first created until the Dark ages. Ancient refers to BCE (before common era) and I can tell you now the most advanced metal used then was iron. Prove me wrong by sending me a link referring to this ancient Indian steel. Also, can't recreate it? Well I'm assuming they found some samples of it meaning it can be analysed and the ingredients discovered.
I see, very ingenious of the Indians, then again they are an exceptionally bright race.
i like watching that show what the ancients knew, ancient rome had engineering, ancient china had paper 500 years before anyone else, ancient india also invented the number zero, and mathmatics, its interesting what you can learn from history.

funny thing is is they know the ingrediants, they simply havnt been able to creat steel from iron using only wood, and create the exact same product.
