Minecraft: We all love it, thats why we're here. In this case, we are in the suggestions section because either there's small things we don't like or that we want added. In my case, it's interchangability.
In Minecraft, we all have wooden or iron doors, right? Well they don't go with every block perfectly. Same with stairs, slabs, so on. So here's what I think would make Minecraft even better: Make anything out of anything. Now I'm not talking about Nether portals or stuff like that, I mean doors, slabs, stairs, buttons, and pressure plates.
On one of my worlds, I have a sandstone house. The problem is that the button is a stone button, looks terrible on it. But if you could have, say, sandstone buttons, then you've got a perfectly blending button. An Obsidian door could make a creepy Nether Portal room turn into a true Hell Portal. Things like that could make minecraft much better.
And as for anybody who sees loopholes: For quite a few blocks you wouldnt have to make new textures. For most, in fact. It'd likely only be doors that would have to have textures made.

Tell me what you think.
cool idea for a mod, however i wouldn't like to see it implemented :tongue.gif: it just seems like extra stuff to clog up the texture file and lag down the game. (however you wouldnt actually need a new texture for each door, they could just overlay over eachother) not to mention it would mess up the balance of the game

You wouldnt need new textures, except possibly for the doors. Maybe. The other things just take the textures directly from the block texture anyways. And I am planning on making mods, eventually, although they'd be small and simple I'm sure I can do this. And will.

Something like a dirt door would almost never be used.
Double Digits, *****!

Exactly like you make the block normally. Two wood on top of each other... dangit. Well, I'll think of something. Maybe directly from a tree?
It may never be used, at least on single, but imagine the griefer protection.
