There was a mod installer called modcraft, it stopped working due to server issues a few months ago. it also had minecraft tools like river generators, texture packs, mcedit schematics and skins. It was a very useful thing to install mods with. If they added something like that to the title screen or launcher this technically count as official mod support. It said something like this: this mod requires:modloader, ect. it would also have a download for those making life a lot easier. it listed many mods and texture packs and put up ones like mo creatures but would also put up lesser know ones like the masks mod. it makes adding mods ingame less of a pain and it also created backup's encase you got "the black screen of death" this would be a great addition to the launcher.

this is a good idea, i mean, i haven't used this client before and i don't struggle with mods, but i imagine a lot of people do and anything that makes something easier has to be better, right?
I don't struggle with mods much but i don't use them often and most people will struggle if the mod is huge or has lots of weird steps and add-ons like build craft
