Hi im kruumsss on minecraft and i've been playing minecraft since 1.7.3 and im 9 and most don't want to see what a 9 year old is going to say but look and im almost 10.
I was thinking for survival
1. For skills you can do skill points and with the points you can spread it out among what you want to do. You can’t do that skill without 1 skill point. Only way to get more is by killing, including servers with p v p. You can kill a player and the player will lose an unused skill point and it will be given to another player that absorbed them.
2. What skills? You can do:
a. Woodcutting
b. Swimming
c. Combat
i. Archery
ii. Swords
d. Enchanting
e. Potions
f. Boat steering
g. Building
h. Destroying
i. Health
j. Strength
k. spells
Woodcutting
• 0 skill: can’t cut wood
• 1 skill: can cut.
• 2 skill: cut from a longer distance.
• 3 skill: cut from even longer distance.
• 4 skill: even longer .
• 5 skill: even longer.
• 6 skill: get more planks from unrefined wood.
• 7 skill: cut faster then gold axe with diamond axe.
• 8 skill: cut faster than gold and diamond with iron.
• 9 skill: cut faster than gold diamond and Iron with cobblestone axe.
• 10 skill: cut faster than all axes with a wooden axe.
And a lot of similar things with other skills
Now that this is placed correctly, I think it should be stated that if you present your ideas clearly and with effective literacy, people will be inclined to take you more seriously. Even if you are only nine years old.
It's hard sometimes, but I try to judge people in their individual value over a common stereotypical idea.
Edit: now as for the ideas presented, I have to disagree. I do think an RPG orientation is the direction the game is headed in, but I cannot agree with a skill point system. I feel it would take away from the Sandbox aspect far to much. One of the nice aspects of minecraft is that you can do anything you want so long as you know how without limitations, which is What I see skillpoints being.
