I propose a new use for Slime Balls. Slime is mostly organics, so it should burn (at least, once dehydrated). So one could make a torch out of them. The recipe is simple, a slime ball on top of a stick like a torch or redstone torch (not sure how many it should make.)
The slime torch has the following properties: It gives off little light, similar to a Redstone torch. Its main effect, however, has a 5 block radius (blockable by blocks, like light). This effect prevents mob spawning and encourages the spread rate of mushrooms to any block within its radius and allows them to ignore crowding limits (but not light limits). The light it does give off has a weird green glow. A possible additional effect would be to speed the growth of crops, sugar cane, or saplings.

Good idea, But bonemeal is for the saplings, Torches prevent mob spawning, and as for green glow, they would have to re-write the entire lighting engine, because it doesn't support green lights. Good Idea though, would be cool.

I Support the Server Nexalion. [nexalion.minecraft.cm]
i think that since they are so rare no one would like to waste their hard earned slime balls on a torch, considering it lets off less light, i would find no use to it

What else are you going to use them on? Sticky pistons? Currently that's the only use.
