I was thinking here: Strongholds and Mineshafts both have the occasional treasure chest, but its loot isn't usually all that great. That's OK, but I'm concerned with what the Enderdragon would give upon death because of this. I'll be pretty upset if he drops only diamonds or something we can find in the Overworld.
So yeah, this topic is for speculation/suggestions on what the almighty Enderdragon will drop upon being slain. Since the Enderdragon seems to be a final boss of sorts, and Notch claims it will be really friggin hard, nothing fairer than some decent drops, huh?
It could have a chance to drop either of these:
Enderdragon Wings: The dragon's wings would be equippable in the Chestplate slot, and would allow you to fly freely. Flight would be different from Creative, requiring you to tap space to "flap your wings", and would also make you glide, negating fall damage. Doesn't have any armor value, like the Pumpkin.
Ender Sword/Pickaxe/Axe/Shovel: Some sort of endgame tool set. Maybe indestructible? 5x times harder than diamond? Could mine obsidian quickly? Anything superior to the diamond tools, basically.
Ender Armor: Same as above, maybe indestructible or with some special effect.
If dropping the tools/armor themselves sounds like a goofy idea, maybe drop its materials instead?
Enderdragon Scales: The dragon would drop 3-5 of those upon death, allowing you to craft tools/armor with them.
Enderdragon Heart/Blood Potion ingredients. 1 heart, 3-5 blood. Could make some sort of really good potion by itself (heart = invincibility or blood = III-rank potion effect) or some other use.
Post your ideas if you like. I really hope the reward is something otherworldy and exclusive to the boss. :wink.gif:
I'd say only the scales or heart only if they had useful uses. The idea of taking wings from a dead animal and flying with them seems silly, and the tools/armor would be pretty OP.

Yeah, maybe just taking the wings sounds silly. Still, it would be cool to unlock a flying ability in Survival.
Now, for the challenge the dragon presents (and the labor it takes to just get there), a stronger tool set wouldn't be OP. Maybe it shouldn't be indestructible, but something powerful would be cool.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
