This is my Barebones sugestion on Electri-Craft THIS is NOT a COMPLEATE sugestion, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment with new idea's and sugestions
Lets get started Copper
Has half the rarity of iron and is usally found in veins of 8-20 ore blocks
When heated in a furnace you get Copper Ingots Copper Wire
To make Copper Wire place 3 Copper Ingots in a row like so
= Copper Ingot
The copper can also be replaced with gold to make Gold-wire for more advanced projects later on
The copper wire can be placed and will ac like redstone, also copperwire can be placed on walls, ceilings, and Fenceposts Light-Bulb's
It took Edison 5,000 tries but it willl only take us just 1!
crafted like so:
:Flint and Steel:
= Copper Ingot
= Copper Wire
This creates 1 lightbuild, when placed next to an active current it will light up with a light level of 16 (2 more then torchs) they can be switched off, and placed on the bottom of a block meaning they could be usful for Agressive Mob Farms, or maybe some redstone contraption. Electric Fence
Simple But efective
Crafted like so:
= Copper Ingot
= Copper Wire
This produces 1 Electric Fence
When placed and conected to a power source, it acts like redstone, losing pwoer as it goes on meaning it does less damage
When a Mob touchs the fence it does Damage to them and has a 1/18 Chance of lighting them on fire But Q: But Electronics are too advanced!
A: No its not achually, minecraft is a sandbox-game and this sugestion only sugst the simple things im not sugesting robots or gatling guns.
Q: I opose Electricity!
A: Ok then I want you to take all your minecraft materials that used redstone, and throw them all into a lava pool.
Q: Whats the point of this? All of this can be done now..
A: Whats the point of gold? its quite usless but its there..
Q:But I dont want advanced Electronic stuff in minecraft!
A: Well You dont HAVE TO use it, but if yoru on servers and such you will soon become obsouleate as everyone else uses new materials
Thats most of what I can think of for now that I have thought out compleatly
Please Comment with New ideas, and if you opose my sugestion please explain why, otherwise yoru post is just an irelivant negative comment
Why do we need to add a new material though? We already have redstone, which would make perfect sense in crafting these things.
And about gold being useless, in real life gold is used all the time in electronics, so it's a perfect candidate for more advanced redstone items as well.
Hmm..true...
But still redstone has the limits of you can only place it on the ground and go up 1 block at a time
and using a powder to make lightbulbs and such seams so..so...so wrong in scientific terms..
Redstone only goes up one block at a time because of issues with making it able to scale vertically. Copper wires would have the same programming issue.
And how is putting flint and steel in the lightbulb any better? I'd much rather it be glowstone dust, with some redstone in the mix to allow for redstone toggling.
I don't mean to belittle your idea, but I've just seen this so many times, and each time it's been completely unnecessary given the materials we already have in the game.
First, redstone is good enough for me.
Second, Gold isn't useless, see booster rails.
Third, even if you think it is useless, you can justify anything with the argument of "x is useless, so y, another useless feature, should be added" No. That just wastes everybody's time.
Major logic flaw of this thread: Redstone is more magical than technological, meaning it is only a concept of electricity, instead of being electricity itself.
Let me explain
Take minecraft, and put in features of electricity. Realism, if you will. Does it even seem possible for something such as minecraft? If you answered yes, you have not played long enough to understand minecraft.
Now, add in a magical source of energy, such as glowstone is. Whereas glowstone energy is light, redstone energy is power. Does this seem to fit? Glowstone uses this theory, so yes, as glowstone required no power, it lights itself, even in broad daylight.
So, to answer these "questions" that you "answered":
Q: But Electronics are too advanced!
A: No its not achually, minecraft is a sandbox-game and this sugestion only sugst the simple things im not sugesting robots or gatling guns. Regardless of it being a sandbox game, it has a theme. Medieval fantasy is usually what is accepted.
Q: I opose Electricity!
A: Ok then I want you to take all your minecraft materials that used redstone, and throw them all into a lava pool. As I had previously stated, redstone does not use electricity. A wooden stick with dust on it is not an infinite source of electricity, so there you have more disproof.
Q: Whats the point of this? All of this can be done now..
A: Whats the point of gold? its quite usless but its there.. You cannot make a gold block with cobblestone, nor any other item but gold. Contrasting this to redstone/electricity is illogical.
Q:But I dont want advanced Electronic stuff in minecraft!
A: Well You dont HAVE TO use it, but if yoru on servers and such you will soon become obsouleate as everyone else uses new materials. There really is no argument against something I can not manage to understand. What did you try to say with this last question?
I had achually made a therory on how redstone works, but it probably wouldnt be logical
but il state it anyway
Redstone is basicly Natures Solar Panels, when it absorbs light it store a large amount of energy, Redstone combined with torchs means you can get an unending suply of power out of a small stick.
Also current can flow through redstone making it an ideal material for power transfer, however due to the fact it is a dust it is not ideal for going up steep walls.
Glowstone is Basicaly a Natural Glow-in-dark material with X checmical + Y Chemical making light, this material could have formed with sand, and due to the nethers high-heat level this formed glass with the glow-in-the-dark material inside.

also this isnt redstone this is Elctri-Stone as it starts getting mroe into electricity then redstone
