"Hey kids! Ever wonder what it would be like to be an elven archer!? Now your in luck!..."
Alright, yea, enough with the 50's commercial appeal.
So within a discussion betwixt myself, Slash, and my cousin, Mohzaev, We have stumbled upon a revelation. Mohzaev is the only elf in his world; and even with the next addition of villagers, he will still be the only elf. While pondering the fancy of having races, we also discussed the idea, and mechanics of Attributes. Within this discussion also arose a spectacular idea tying these into the achievements already built in game. [IE: Zombie Killer, kill 100 zombies. Unlock: Double critical hit rate on zombies.]These suggestions could also be highly functional with potions as well!
We will now discuss more in depth each of these things and how they play into each other to make what could be a great expansion/update. Mind you this will not be an easy or simple update but we both feel that it could help define the game a bit more and make it a little more rewarding to stay in one world longer.
I, slash, feel each statistic should grow more powerful in increments of 3. This way you feel the need to really focus hard on one to get the most out of it. In other words, If you have 2 Str, your just as strong as when you have 1Str. But once you hit 3 Str you notice a fairly significant jump.
Proficiency chart:
1-2 Minimum
3-5 Weak
6-8 Average
9-11 Good
12-14 Above Average
15-17 Superb
18-20 Excellent
21-24 Supreme
25 Elite
Attribute/Statistic breakdown:
Each statistic will effect multiple attributes from all other statistics. So if you specialist in one you wont be entirely useless in other fields.
Int – Productivity:
quantity of items built, quality of items made.
Int side effects:
-Combat: Crit chance
-Stamina: More health/hunger restored from food
-Effectiveness: Speed of production
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Str- Combat:
Attack damage, armor proficiency, block power
Str side effects:
-Productivity: material/mining damage
Achievements and perks:
As Notch has not finished the achievements, It would be exceedingly difficult to say what achievement should give what perk.
We will update this in the future to reflect future patches if any great interest is shown in our idea.
If there are any questions please comment for clarification.
No, just no. Races and classes don't fit to Minecraft. This is just a desperate try to add some bad "roleplay" to a good game.
Don't missunderstand, I like RPGs and stuff but Minecraft is not an RPG. Even though they add a lot of adventure stuff, Minecraft will always stay a sandbox game without any classes and races. If you want to roleplay as a dwarf or an elf, just download a skin and play as if you were an archer (prefere your bow above other weapons) but don't add useless skills!
Mohzaev would like to point out that he only wanted the attributes. The Races and classes where an idea adding upon his from Slash.
I dont like the idea of races or classes at all in minecraft its to gamechanging and takes away the creative sandbox element
Who is to say Notch may not add an RPG mode to the game? No two players/users are the same so there for everyone has there own idea of what would be good. :smile.gif:
It will never hit creative mode, that is for sure. But perhaps under a new mode yes. And survival should be more for just well, surviving. :tongue.gif: Who knows what the future holds?
Oh also, Blood for the blood god, Skulls for the skull throne! Khorne all the way. -Slash D:{
This is a suggestion for either Notch or for mod-crafters who feel like taking up a challenge.
