I posted the outline for this idea in another thread and decided to see if someone else had suggested it. Surprisingly, the search bar yielded no results. If this has, in fact, been proposed already, please direct me there and this thread can be closed.
We all know that Minecraft was recently divided into survival mode and creative mode; but what about people who like some aspects of survival, but dislike others? What if someone wants to keep playing on the 1.8 survival mode without dragons and magic? What if someone wants to play without worrying about hunger levels or maybe even without creepers or endermen?
I propose that players be allowed to set custom properties for worlds/servers when they are set up. I'm sure there are dozens of mods that do that, but it should be a feature that is formally supported by Mojang.
Such parameters could include...
- Mobs? Y/N
----(if Y, each individual mob)
- Tools? Y/N
- Magic? Y/N
- Crafting? Y/N
- Redstone Circuits? Y/N
- Hunger? Y/N
- Alternating time? Y/Always day/Always night
- Water: Volumized/Standard (one can only hope )
- Explosions? Y/N
----(if Y, TNT/Creepers)
- Difficulty: Peaceful/Easy/Medium/Hard
- Size: Tiny/Small/Medium/Large/Hugantic
- Quick-Break? Y/N
- Nether? Y/N
- Fly? Y/N
I agree because I want everything like peaceful but with all mobs other than creepers. you could also have enderman teleprtation toggle. I suggest the options should be set when making a world instead of in the options menu.
+1, Good sir. I support this fully and think it would please all the haters on the new 1.9 functions I love, personally. It would also kill most of the "OMG STUPED ENCHANTMUNT POTIONS!!1!" posts on here. :smile.gif:
Thank you for the positive feedback. I feel like this would give Mojang a lot more freedom with implementing new ideas without risking loosing the game properties that people already love. Shooters and RTS games have already been doing this for a long time and the results have been fanominal. It just seems logical for a sandbox game to have custom settings.
