Industrialization! its a whole big idea made of many small ideas. I searched for duplicates of these and really didn't find anything of recent note, so here I go!

Elevators, and a few ways to do em'. redstone+ladder+iron= basic elevator rail, next. any form of platform (half block)+redstone+iron. can only be placed on elevator rail. finally. switch. cool part? with elevator rails mimicking the trail rails you can have "floors" and stops. the basic stuff is already there! this one is awesome.

interchangeable materials. why? because like charcoal, it gives us alternatives for things. so we have...sawdust! made from our old friend the tree. for me its just because we could use the sawdust in place of sand for TNT. use your imagination for other item uses folks...ohh...soulsand TNT. bigger boom?

backpack and belt! made of leather, lets you carry more in your pack, belt gives you a bigger set of hot keys.

fianlly, the big one, perhaps biggest of them all.
War. NPC villagers will grow villages, randomly decide alliances upon first contact and then go to war sending waves of soldiers at each other and maybe you! Like endermen will pillage the other village of its resources and blocks to add onto their own, trying to establish an NPC stronghold.
I'm speaking for thousands of people who are sick of people making topics like this when I say , this just won't fit into the current era of Minecraft! Unless , there is always the way of texturing it and making it work so that it seems like it's primordial. Like for example , people who lived in the Medieval ages used wooden rooms and pulled them up using a weight , creating the first elevator. This could work for Minecraft. However , making metal elevators that run on redstone is just... not Minecraft.

Those that don't search are scum , those that know the topic has been suggested , but still suggest them , are worse than scum.

The current era of Minecraft would be around the late 1800's to mid 1900's. That places it comfortably in range of the industrial revolution. War is as old as humanity. Your logic does not hold up.
EDIT: Also, how exactly are vertical powered rails less "Minecraft" than the existing horizontal ones?...which, incidentally, don't look the least bit primitive in design.
MId 1900? thats 1950 did we fight the ww2 with bows arrows and sword? Minecraft for me is a fantasy world and elevator is a nice idea but it should be like the other guy said about medieval style maybe like in the better than wolves mod!
The game has TNT (which acts like dynamite) and coal-fed locomotives.
Also, the default Steve is wearing a t-shirt and denim jeans.
Denim = 18th century
T-Shirt = 19th century
So, late 1800's to mid/early 1900's...and these are just the examples that can be made without bringing in the schizo-tech electricity. Also, to answer your question...yes.

I'm looking for more feedback and constructive criticism. The most important part of this post to me is definitely the elevators.
