While I love the new generator and the biomes it creates, I feel the game has lost some of its randomness by losing the old world generator. With this generator you always know (somewhat) what to expect when you're walking into a different biome, while in the old generator, it could be something grand awaiting you around the cliff side.
So my suggestion is, to add a new option to the game type selection that utilizes the old world generator, while keeping intact the new mobs/items that have been added to the game. (I know adding in the new terrain additions such as strongholds/ravines would be a challenge) So please, if anyone that has the power to bring this idea to the drawing board reads this, consider doing so.
what i didnt like with the old genorator was that clay was SO FRICKEN RARE! i had to explore the entire map (map item) just to build a fireplace! but other that that i liked the old school one
Old World Generation: mixed Forest, Desert, And the occasional tabletop mountain
New World Generation: mixed Forest, Pine forest, swamp land, Extreme hills, deserts, plains, ocean, tundra, mushroom island. Not to mention ravines, strongholds, and caves got a big rebuff.
