It seems like a lot of people don't really like the NPCs features and stuff. So, I was thinking about some stuff that would make them more interesting!
First off the how the NPCs look. Like humans I think NPCs should have their own personality and looks. So, maybe randomly generated face features and color of clothing or design? It would make them stand out more and make them have something special that's only for them.
Next up, their personalities, whether you are nice or mean to the NPC or do what they ask you or not depends on how they think about you. If you do something good they'll give you positive points on trustworthy and open up new features like discounts on what they do or sell. Like the blacksmith, if you get on his good side he might just give you a diamond sword for free or a discount! He will also be more nice. If you get negative points like hitting them, killing a family member or decline their quest they will not be so nice to you and limit what you get from them. If you get 100% on their trustworthy side you'll pretty much get free items from them but, it'll be very hard to get points as you go on, (some quests might not even give you points!) If you get 0% trusthworthy they'll try killing you!
Now, I know this one is over used but, quests? Like, for example a potion maker will ask you to get a plant for him or something. If you do that he can pay you in minerals or maybe currency?! The more you do the harder they'll get. You can also get trustworthy points by doing this. It may even get hard to like fighting dragons!
Alright, now for currency, the currency could just be minerals, (like iron ingots, gold ingots, diamonds, etc.) or actual coins like bronze, silver, and gold coins. Bronze coins is equal to one penny, (or however it is in your country's currency) silver is equal to fifty cents, and gold coins are equal to $1, (which may not seem like a lot but, back then it was).
Maybe, interactions with the villagers? Like talking to them and helping them at their job.
Lastly, village parades and feasts. Randomly in a 30-31, (Minecraft days) a feast or parade will happen. The feasts will be however much food was collected by everyone, (but not you) and thus feasted upon. You won't get all of the food but you will get quite a lot! It will end at sundown on a regular Minecraft day so hurry! For parades, each NPC will be showing what they do for a living and there will be game stands, (like archery, hitting the targets and catching an apple, etc.) and other stuff!
Also, I don't think all of these would be used as they would probably take MONTHS for it to be coded and stuff. It would be cool though, if one of them were used, though! I hoped you liked my ideas. I'd also like to hear your ideas and feedback.
I like your ideas, though only the parade and feast ones have I not thought of yet. Still, I really hope there will be shops and such. I want to be an alchemist and sell potions in the village nearby!

Yeah, I want those kind of what seems like unlimited hours of gameplay of doing a job for a town and stuff. :smile.gif:
