Though Enchanting is a great implementation, it is still quite limited. My idea is that Enchanting should not only higher damage, but a variety of effects, as well. For instance,
-When Enchanting the damage of a Weapon, the Weapon will have the "Bulky" prefix, which means
the damage is greater.
I don't think bulky is a good idea, if you want more damage, just go a tier up. How about crit rate instead?
An EXCELLENT deduction! However, I believe I should keep higher damage.
-When Enchanting a weapon for a burn effect, it will gain the "Blazing" prefix, which will have a chance to set things on fire, but only Mobs.
-When Enchanting a weapon for a poison effect, it will gain the "Venomous" prefix, which will have a chance to poison mobs.
Another idea is that for certain Enchantments you need a specific item. For example, you may need Netherrack of Blaze Powder to grant the "Blazing" effect, or Stone for a "Bulky" effect.
This idea will be useful for Adventure Maps which use magical items. :V
Adding to your bulky enchantment, because the damage is higher maybe there could be a 5% chance of the weapon breaking or it degrades faster. Or.. you could just add a whole new enchantment to do this lol.

Well, Bulky means it is stronger than the original item, which probably means that is actually has a BETTER durability. :tongue.gif:
However, a negative ability might be that is is more heavy, so that you walk slower, or you swim slower.
Update, I just downloaded the 1.9 Pre 4, and it turns out Mojang DID add Blazing Swords! They probably thought of it without my help, but I am quite satisfied. If only it had a prefix, as well as a stat list.
