Ok...so I have been playing Minecraft for a while now. For a while I have been wanting to build an ancient Greek like mega structure. The problem with this is that I am some what limited by the type of blocks I can use in this kind of structure.
I would like to see Marble be implemented into the game. I think this would create a lot of building possibilities and open up a lot of doors. What do you guys think? Anyone agree/disagree? I think this would be a minor change and could really add a lot to the game!
Until then, you can use a greek/roman texture pack that does that. :wink.gif:
I do agree, but I prefer to use the regular minecraft textures. Reason being is that any of the work I make looks really good for anyone regardless of whatever texture pack they are using. Rather than just something that might look good with just that particular texture pack I was using.
As for the relation that was made between it and Lapis....
I see where your coming from...but I personally think that Marble should be a block kinda like Obsidian is. Not like Red Stone or Lapis. However There are other uses for marble besides building....but I think this would expand a lot as far as building possibilities.
1) I request that you change the title to something more fitting: "marble" would be a bit better.
2) Can I get info on how to get and where to get? I've seen various implementations on this but it would help your case if you stated how the player would obtain this material in the first place.
3) As far as a block requiring a non-aesthetic use... Brick block? Sandstone? Solid Stone? Bookshelf*? Spider Web? Slime ball?
I recommend you propose some possible use for it other than aesthetics, because as it is, we don't particularly need just one block that looks better for roman structures.

I love the idea.

I love this suggestion. Or even if we can take normal stone and do something with it to create Marble. I would be totally love that as well!

*Spare me, burning is HARDLY a practical use.
