All cows have same spots - that doesn't make sense. No two cows should have the same texture. I have a neat solution.
Layer 1 - The black skin. No facial features, just black.
Layer 2 - White spots. Each spot is placed in a random location within the texture.
Layer 3 - Facial features. They go over the spots and black hide. Hooves are also here.
This is sort of like...Spinda, in Pokemon. It's useful for:
Differenciating cows.
Breeding cows to get new patterns.
Making cows even more epic.
I don't know what else to say. :wink.gif:

I am meowing at my lung’s fullest. I would even argue that the echo that reverberates back to me is the voice of someone I know…
mobs arent generated via some code, they're programmed as an entity and assigned a .png file as a skin, which is why they all look the same
what you're saying is nice, but not going to happen.

Dude, I know much more than you do. I'm a game programmer, so you need to sit in that corner.
Have a texture randomizer. It's possible.
EDIT: Okay, if you don't understand.
Layer 2 is multiple layers, one for each spot. You randomize the texture offset on each of them, then layer them all.
Sure you are. And I'm the prince of Wales. To claim that you know more than me after not explaining yourself well is folly. Even if what you're saying was coded into the game, there would still be identical cows. At any rate, if you want randomized mobs, get a mod for it. It's not important enough to be put into the game.
