Dynamic Ores would be an addition that allows players to interact with the various types of ores within the game without ever even mining them. This is a pointless addition, however cool, so I don't expect anyone to think I mean 'productively' using the ores.
By this I mean, for example, a block of coal ore could be set on fire and permanently lose the actual coal inside of it, becoming just a regular stone block. Redstone ore blocks could act as redstone torches, naturally, but only produce 5 or 6 block lengths of redstone power. Although this seems counter-productive or useless to the player, it sounds perfectly reasonable to me as something a game developer would want to add to their game, since the overlying goal for game developers is usually realism, something that Minecraft both depends on and avoids.

The statement above is false.
You forgot punching trees and see a floating tree.
"...realism, something that Minecraft both depends on and avoids."
Thank you
