do not say that it is to hard or its a sandbox game because what some people just want this game to die.they are not makeing minecraft 2 so lets take this to are advantage..
I would like to see some see creatures and plants more than are present right now. It's be nice to see sea weed and sharks. If we had sharks we might be able to craft more than one kind of soup, shark soup. Maybe with sea weed + shark + fish we could have sushi or just fish stew. Or perhapes sharks would drop teeth which you could use to craft a different kind of arrow.
i personally feel like the water in minecraft is rather empty. aside from a few squid, there is not much there. this breaks minecraft's consistent realism in most everything that occurs. in reality, the waters of earth are teeming with life, many fish, many crustaceans, i want to see that in minecraft. maybe a rare but dangerous water predator, like a shark, or giant squid, kraken, ctulu, i dont know. sea weed too.
I had this idea, but when I searched for it there were a few topics already about it. I didn't at all feel like seeing if they were familiar to my idea, so I just left it.
Since it fits with this topic, I'll now share it here:
Oysters
Spawn: Shallow water (1-3 blocks deep), maybe only in ocean biomes, on stone or dirt blocks.
Appearance: You know what these look like; mermaids use their shells as bras.
Drops: 0-1 seashells; 1 oyster meat OR 1 pearl.
Behaviour: A simplified way to describe oysters would be "underwater mushrooms". This means they're not actual mobs, but rather an "item" that is attached to the top or side of a block.
Oysters are also like mushrooms in that they can spread under the right conditions. If there is an available stone/dirt/sand block nearby to an oyster, another oyster has a chance to spawn on the available block. Oysters on stone spread fastest, and new oysters are most likely to appear on stone blocks. Oysters on sand spread slowest, and new oysters are least likely to appear on sand blocks. Dirt is middle or the road for oyster breeding.
Hitting an oyster will cause it to break and drop 0-1 seashells and either 1 oyster meat OR 1 pearl. The only way to get the actual oyster as an item is to break the block it is attached to. In this way you can make an oyster farm.
Oysters that are being harvested from dirt or stone blocks have about a 5% chance to drop a pearl, otherwise they drop oyster meat. Oysters harvested from a sand block have about a 25% chance to drop a pearl. So, if you were looking to make a pearl farm, your best bet would be to place an oyster on a stone block surrounded by sand blocks. All underwater, of course.
Use: Oyster meat is a food item, though not very filling. Maybe about one drumstick, but it doesn't need to be cooked.
Seashells... well, okay, I don't really know what these could be for. Future crafting recipes, decoration, potions maybe. Crafted by itself into one bonemeal? Or a bonemeal substitute that can't be used as dye?
Pearls, again, no uses off the top of my head. Potions, crafting... Maybe some use in a future magic system, who knows?
A semi-strange thought:
Currently all animals (except babies) drop exp when killed. Oysters are animals too, so maybe they should drop one experience point when you harvest them?
I sort of feel this way about fishing, too. Why don't you get experience for killing the fish?
In this link, Simon and Lewis (The Yogscast) showcase a mod that have Coral Reefs with beautiful lighting (Ignore the Scuba), throw in a few more animals from Mo'Creatures (Sharks, Dolphins and Piranhas). Also maybe a few more fish that aren't in Mo'Creatures such as Crabs on beaches, Schools of Fish? IF they ever do at Sharks or Piranhas this can be good for boats since I never use them and I don't see them being used by anyone besides in Adventure Maps.
