Notch I think you should add a feature in Creative mode to change the biome at will, as biomes are really affecting how some of my stuff work, and I want to be able to change. Afterall, its creative right? Also make you able to place lilypad on anything, not just swamp water. The swamp water is making some of my structures look weird and I want to change the biome.

Yeah! My Zelda Nes world is all messed up by snow and swamp water.

I think this is a good idea, but I hate to be the bearer of bad news, this is impossible. Biomes can't magically change because it's not just the water or snow that makes a biome, but the land. If you decide you want a mountain biome to be a desert, it won't magically make the mountains out of sand, it will take away the mountains and make it flat. If you decided you wanted a swamp to be a regular forest, the ground would move up and sand would be added to the shoreline, there would be new trees randomly appearing because while swamps have taller trees and flat shallow ground, forest has slightly higher shores with smaller trees, also the lag between the change of the biome would be TREMENDOUS. So many blocks moving, getting created or destroyed. Changing the biomes would also most likely destroy your buildings too

Maybe just change the biome, but not the land? Is that possible? Like no blocks change, just the grass color, water color, etc
How about a set of sliders to use when creating a world in advanced options?
One slider for each biome.
-If set to max then the biome will be generated often, and in large size.
-If set to medium it will be generated fairly enough in a decent size.
-If set to low it will be generated rarely, and in small size.
-If set to empty it won't be generated at all.
The default is all sliders set the middle.
Players could choose to set all but the desert slider to empty, and thus would create a never-ending desert.
If the player sets the ocean slider to max, and the land slider to low, it would create a large ocean with occasional islands.
Setting tundra and mountains to max, it would create a Skyrim-like world. :biggrin.gif:
And so on and so forth.
With this, players can create any type of world they want.

definitely add this.
