Combine a glowstone block and any other block to make a light source version of the block (stairs, cobble, glass, etc). If the block is placed and then broken it would lose the light emitting property and return only what you would normally get back from breaking a block of that type. Perhaps return the amount of glowstone dust you would get from breaking a glowstone block as well, perhaps not.
This would allow builders to create structures without the lines being broken up by torches or glowstone.
Well, this is essenially pointless. Thereare already numerous methods of acheiving light, and its more costly to use both Glowstone AND another block. This should be thought out more.

True, there are many other methods of lighting but they all disrupt the aesthetics of whatever is being built and because you are gaining light without the disruption it should be more costly, was the thought.

I see your point, im just saying that its much more feasible to just have a torch off put somewhere. Now, if you are going for a torchless room and maybe trying to build some true aesthetics, sure.
Another thought on this. Should it allow for things like trees to be grown on a dirt block that had been turned into a light source. Should tilling a light source dirt block remove the light or not?
