How cool would it be if you could set up cameras outside your house that allowed you to see a remote location from a central control room? I was thinking maybe design a camera that powers redstone like a redstone torch but instead of providing power to other systems it only sends a feed to a "Monitor" of some sort. I know the coding for that is no where in current minecraft but...it shouldn't be TOO difficult could it? Somehow connecting the monitor with what the camera sees would probably be the most difficult part.
You can use this system to watch for creepers waiting outside your door, or just make sure you don't have any unwanted visitors enter your abode without your knowledge on a multiplayer server.
You set up the camera like a torch on a side of a block and it points directly at where you when you set it so you can adjust the angle like you want.
Was thinking maybe construction for the camera would be:

I like it, but they should need a redstone connection. You can scan a larger range by wiring multiple cameras to a monitor (if their ranges overlap, it is all one image for what they all see, if they don't, it is a split-screen image). If the cameras detect a mob, it produces redstone current. The redstone can be however long you want and still connect them. A repeater or an inverter will mess it up.

Well there we go. Sounds interesting. Shall definitely check that out.
It's is a colorless, 19th century camera.
Like I said...my mind ran with it and obviously I wasn't the only one with the idea lol. Someone already has the mod out for it.
