By now, we are all familiar with these three block tall fellows who don't like to be looked at. The Endermen are pretty much the only frightening mob out there- or they would be if they weren't so easy to kill.
I greatly approve of the health increase they are getting in later updates- 20 hearts is perfect. But the weaknesses- oh, god all the weaknesses. Fire, lava, water, rain, sunlight- you name it, they'll die if they touch it! Sunlight, water, and rain I agree with, but lava and fire (for good reason) should not harm Endermen. The logic behind this is that they are clearly former natives of the Nether. That's the reason Nether portals are three blocks high on the inside, and why the ruined strongholds exist there! Hallways in the Nether ruins are three blocks tall as well. Endermen have purple eyes and give off particles like those from the portals. There is a tie here. Every mob in the Nether is immune to fire and lava, why shouldn't the former masters of that domain be too?
I've seen that Notch is reducing the variety of blocks they can pick up. That's just sad. The Endermen need to take away that sense of complete control and security the player gets when sitting in their little hut. They should wake up in the morning with bits of wall missing, and know who was responsible. Endermen also need to have a bit more architectural prowess than shuffling dirt and sand into piles. Endermen should go around making simple structures, like three-block stacks, or half finished "hallways" made of dirt, keeping the memories of their once-grand Nether homes alive. Creeper-wielding Endermen would especially be a treat, as they could teleport to the player, drop their little explosive buddy, and disappear to behind the player, making combat a challenging prospect.
In summary, Endermen should have the same immunities to lava and fire as their Nether brethren, should have more health, and be able to pick up anything under the moon but obsidian and bedrock, leaving puzzling, half-done structures in their wake. Players should be terrified if they irritate an Enderman.
Just one reply, it makes me feel sad o-e
also, just to say soemthing important... they should not 'die' as all the mobs in minecraft do, they should just make you feel like they tp'ed away, not just faint and die in the floor o-o
If they go immune to fire/lava, that would make them immune to sunlight.
WRONG! If they actually come from the nether, that would make them unable to live in the brightness [The nether is ridicously dark even with those large amounts of lava]
Your attitude makes you look less mature. Who gives a **** what his avatar looks like. His suggestion was about adding health to an enderman, not what his forum avatar should be. I agree with increasing the health of the enderman... Not to 20, perhaps 15. Given it's height and abilities, 20 is a bit much.

To add to this suggestion how about having some nether strongholds and overworld ones having connected portals?
YUM YUM YUM!
