Joined a new server and decided to build my house at the top of a mountain in a mountain biome. Have an amazing view just to good to pass the opportunity to build my home there. But i encountered a problem when i wanted to build my roof, there was a height limit at 128 blocks. I am thinking the limit should be raised out the mountains should be lower. I had already taken off 5 layers to flatten the top of the mountain to build my home. Sucks After so many hours of building it will take even longer to take everything down and lower the land another 10 blocks. looks like i'll have to build elsewhere and leave my mine behind as well :angry.gif:

From what I understand there is a single value in one of the world files that is used to set the height. At the moment, you do need to mod that yourself, probably using one of the 3rd party tools, or use a mod that takes advantage of it to build higher.
It would be nice if it was an option in the UI during world creation.
You two should read the rules again. Please don't post anything about mods.
I also think the limit should be raised, even something like 10-20 blocks would be great. I understand that it would put a strain on multiplayer, but 10 blocks isn't that much.
You should also read the rules, you are in fact allowed to mention mods, as long as you aren't doing so as a way to dismiss a suggestion, as in: "We don't need this, there is a mod for that."
I mentioned that there is functionality in place to potentially help out the OP immediately, while also stating my own support of this idea and desire to see this implemented as an option in the UI.

It would be great if Mojang could do something like that, but I doubt they'd do such a complete overhaul of the code at this point.
Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
