one thing i have noticed is that there aren't alot of metals and minerals in the game.
i think notch should add other things to mine like rubes, silver, copper, gemstones.
Also to add a second slot in the furnace to smelt things together, such as tin and copper to make bronze and other things.
This may be only me, but i spend 70-80% of my time in Minecraft under ground.
I doubt this will be in the game, but a miner can dream cant he :smile.gif:
Yeah, , , and aren't enough minerals to keep playing the game too long.

Do you know what happened when the unstoppable force met an immovable object? The immovable object and the unstoppable force exploded in an unimaginable amount of energy and caused the Big Bang to occur. Now get a job, philosophers, and leave it to the scientists.
WOW! i spend about 30 min - 1 hour at a time underground.(sometimes i get in the zone and mine longer) the rest is all in my castle or town adding to it. i can see what you are asking but i am happy with the ore given to me. any more and i need to change my museum again.
I have suggested copper before as a substitute for stone tools, cuz they're too easy to acquire after your first wooden pickaxe.
It would at least make a good mod!
Stone:The only mineral in the game, add more Notch! Iron: Has a freaking' huge amount of uses, keep iron and don't add similar ores. Gold: Weak, no reason to put it in-game, armor is crap, tools are crap. Though the clocks are useful. Diamond: Overpowered, lower that a tiny bit. like instead of 1024 uses, maybe just 8xx uses.
Lapis Lazuli: Decent, could have a use to dye iron armor, as well as all dyes.
Good Ores and Minerals to add...
Copper: Can be used only to send electrical signals, (no copper torches and repeaters too OP)
Tin: Can be used for cans, storing food, and making food processors (to can the food).
Salt: In the ocean and close to ice, using Iron and Stone to Filter the salt out of the water.
WHICH: Brings me to a point, Notch should add THIRST! It's only more realistic, and nobody would be able to constantly live on food.
Smelting Copper and tin together as well as other minerals and ores (add a second slot) is a good idea also.
