With this alchemy thing coming, the first thing that came to my mind was the legend of the Philosopher's Stone. Why not include it in the game?
It could work out as this insane sidequest that's purposely made so complex that players would take ages to figure out how it would be crafted/alchemized, out of pure luck. Something very very hard to find out, like Cave Story's sidequest for the true ending without walkthroughs (only much worse than that).
Once finally crafted, of course players would spread the news, so instead of being this awesome item that will make you pretty much a pixelated Midas it can only be used twice on metal blocks to turn it into a diamond block. Yup, not gold, as it is unfortunately so useless, but turning common crystals into diamond was still one of the supposed properties of the stone.
And it should still have to take lots of precious resources, while still being worth it, as so to remain a hard item and well sought item even after its recipe is leaked out.
Criticism and suggestions are welcome, though talking about how it would be made wouldn't really work out; if someday a mod is made for it or, heck, it's implemented on the game, looking through the suggestions would somehow ease things out. :smile.gif:

It's already been added, you just haven't found it yet. Lol, j/k.
It would be cool if some quests were added, I doubt stuff like that would find there way before the official 2.0 release, but I would be all for some quest content added as an update down the line. We now have npcs and for the moment they are kinda boring, would be nice to give them something to do which gives us something to do.
