My idea:
So terraria has that thing with players, and then a separate player right?

If you haven't played:
In terraria, you make a character. But not to that world. You can get that same character and put him in 2 other worlds also. I thought this would help people who get A LOT of diamond, but then, a update comes, new biomes, blocks and items. But, you have to restart from scratch after that.
With this you could delete a world and keep your items. Then create another world with all the new features. Press the 1+ in the corner if you agree.
I don't think you understand, updates may or may not have new blocks. Those would not generate. Use this to GET those new blocks.
Actually, even if you have an old world, going to unexplored chunks will allow you to find new blocks. (Like how my first world was made before lapis lazuli was added, and after I explored for a while I found some).
If I helped in any way, don't click that little green +, instead tell me how much you liked the post. (Only those who are incapable of earning rep the hard way have to beg for it in their signatures).
What about if you were going from multiplayer too multiplayer, would you have to start a new character. Alse the reason terraria was extremely limited was because you always had everything you've gotten. I don't know if they've changed that but once you have gotten a great weapon, there was no way to lose it.

When you die, you drop your stuff. If you can't get back to where you were without your fancy armour and what-have-you, that counts as losing it. Not that that happens very often, but it's a way to lose it.

The reason that was added to Terraria is that it doesn't have infinite maps. Minecraft does, so it's a bit moot.

The statement above is false.
... I'm not sure you understand. Generating new chunks will generate the new biomes, etc as long as you're playing with an updated client.

EDIT: I just got ninja'd by Krova. :blink.gif:

I'm talking about single player FYI.
