We'd like for Wooden Slabs to stop acting like Stone Slabs please.
Why must MINING WOODEN SLABS, be the effective way to remove them? This seems like a very easy bug-fix, which hasn't been fixed in ages.
This also applies to Wooden Stairs, and Stone Stairs!
Heck, since we're here, let's let Mojang know that we also would like to stop spending what seems like lifetimes, taking down our Fences/Stairs/Crafting Tables.
Let's remind em' guys and gals, respond with your thoughts/support.
Short video RooSalad created, to show the issue at hand:
+1 for this, I support it. My boyfriend always laughs at me because I always try the axe on them first, then I remember and facepalm and have to switch to the pickaxe.
I am currently beating Minecraft Forum's silly & stupid limits. This signature will definitely be more than 2 lines long. Who da fudge even came up with that silly rule?
Ha ha MCF
Minecraft is definitely a lot worse now.
I'm serious
I don't see how anyone can legitimately play this game and have fun
Wanna know why I think it's so bad?
It took Mojang over 2 months to finish 1.8
My reaction when 1.8 came out?
LOL is this some kind of joke?
Then I sadly figured out that it wasn't a joke.
1. Less updates, much less frequently.
They are implementing features that suck
Example?
Hunger system.
The hunger system sucks.
Do I have to explain why?
No seriously, do I really have to explain why? Look at the many threads about it on this forum.
I'm against the hunger system
2. They add in pointless updates, even some that make the game worse.
I don't feel like finishing this post with more reasons, maybe I'll do it later.
Anyways, at the end of the day, Minecraft has been sucking lately.
Oh yeah!
Take this Minecraft Forum! My signature is longer than 2 lines! HA HA HA HA HA.
I must disapprove. Wooden Slabs sure "should" be chopped and not mined, but many people build their houses in wood, and put fireplaces.
Honestly, I wouldn't like it very much if every time I wanted a fireplace it had to be with Stone Slabs, it would just be too repetitive and non-creative.
Now, as MachinaSoul said, "it's actually not really mining it, as a pickaxe is a 2 sided tool, where one side is a chisel/pick and the other is a flat sharpened edge, or axe."
So, in a way, it's not entirely mining it.
I agree with him.
"The pointed edge is most often used to break up rocky surfaces or other hard surfaces such as concrete or hardened dried earth. The large momentum of a heavy pickaxe, combined with the small contact area, makes it very effective for this purpose.
The chiseled end, if present, is used for purposes including cutting through roots."
The chiseled end is far too small to cut down any reasonable trees. Thus- the pickaxe in the case we were discussing above- is in fact used for MINING.

I agree with your slab comment, it's just logical that it require an axe.
Thanks for the support, eventually I'm going to have add a scroll-box in the Supporters Section.
You may be correct- but this serves as a great reminder!

Some objects do indeed need to break faster when smashing them. That I do agree with.
