So people are always complaining about 'how minecraft was better before' so my suggestion to silence those annoying childeren is a 'Sandbox' mode. This will remove the foodbar, toggle EXP off, disable sprinting, potions and re-use the old 'food' system. So that all those annoying lil' brats will stop complaining and we can hapilly enjoy the minecraft forums again.
That is iJordyi's post about a sandbox mode. And i agree, but I think that in that mdoe you would be able to jump back to whatever mode of the game you wanted. If you wanted, you could go to alpha, 1.1.1, then pop back into 1.8
I think notch should just add options for stuff like biomes, hunger, exp and whatnot under world options. I mean, it has no current use, so he should make the most out of it.
The idea is that it would be for the people who like survival, the aspect of gathering rescources, but ***** about all the updates.
And whoever said the thing about it not working, if you switched back to a previous version it would remove future stuff. So when you go back, it wont be there still. But you probably wont go back because the idea is to hop to the mode you found fun.
How this would not work:
1. Place a block only supported by 1.8.1/1.9
2. Switch to Alpha 1.2.2 or whatever
3. Crash
Somewhere along Minecraft's development (early Beta or earlier), Minecraft was made to not crash when unsupported items tried to render, they just disappear from the map/inventory/chest.
But I don't think you'd be able to go before 1.4 with a new world, because before then the save file was different. But it could just say, in red text under the world, UNSUPPORTED WORLD FILE so you know you can't use that world (trying to click "play" on it doesn't work either). You'd still be able to create a new old world, though.

I think it would be cool.

No, because Creative is not sandbox. And besides, there are already so many things wrong with Creative.
The statement above is false.
How is it not sandbox? You have unlimited resources, 1 hit breaks, never die and can fly. That is the essence of sandbox.
