I'm impartial toward this suggestion. I see plausible potential uses (including convenient storage) but would like to see more uses before I side one way vs another. If it helps, I'm leaning toward a yes.
Perhaps if it's connected to a redstone torch or switched to on by a lever or pressure plate or something the redstone block would light up and create a light source more powerful than glowstone. :tongue.gif:
I don't care much whether it would light up or not, though it would be more logical since the ore lights up as well, but it's indeed a great idea for storage
I think it would be a good idea if it powered adjacent blocks, while not consuming too much redstone. This would solve quite a few problems encountered by redstone engineers.

a
Id want this but to light up if use as a block and you hit or step on it like I posted previously
"If its a mod its possible to be a feature"
I think this is a pretty good idea. Seeing redstone blocks light up as you walk through them is aesthetically pleasing.
A redstone block makes sense considering how much redstone we get when we mine.
