I know Notch isn't going to read this, but I'll write it anyway.
I think that Minecraft needs to have built-in support for mods, texture packs, and adventure maps. There should be a button in the menu where you could go and download these without having to do work on the .jar, because when Minecraft is released past Beta, a lot of the people playing it might not have much knowledge of technology and might not be able to install these (especially mods, which even I sometimes have trouble with.)
Not sure yet how the adventure maps, texture packs, and mods would be picked. Maybe submitting them? Maybe taking existing ones from sites?
Anyway, for Minecraft to feel like a finished, polished game I think we need this. Is anyone with me?
