I don't want to see the more complex redstone functions get consolidated down, but having repeaters, AND gates, and NOT gates in 1 block craftable versions would make redstone systems SO much more compact. Doesn't mean you are forced to use them, it just means there would be 1 block solutions for those times that space is limited.

One extra block is not going to make a difference (and NOT gates are already directional.) Isolating your inputs/outputs from one another is what makes circuits big.
It would also make mono piston trains much easier to build. btw, try looking at redstonepower mod. I just wish there was a block that would transfer the current down, would make pistons so much easier.
