Dynamic Weather & Clouds My problem with weather: it isn't very realistic. I know Minecraft is generally not a realistic game, but I still think these would be good ideas to tweak it a bit. One nanosecond, it's sunny. The next, the sky is gray and it's pouring. The heck? Now that we have live smooth lighting chunk updates for the day/night cycle, it would just seal the whole thing for me if weather was a bit smoother. Let's say it's a nice MC afternoon, sun is shining and there's little clouds. But in the distance, there's a cluster of darker clouds, with wisps of rain under them. Obviously a rainstorm or thunderstorm. As the clouds approach, the sky, very slowly, begins to fade to the dark gray sky we see in rainstorms. As it fades, there is some scattered rain droplets, not very frequent. As the storm approaches, the raindrops become more and more frequent until it's pouring. The same could happen with snow. Plus, the storms could vary. One could be a big thunderstorm or blizzard, with tonnes of precipitation. The next could be a small drizzle, or just some scattered flurries. The next below THAT could be just plain overcast, clouds almost everywhere. I know this could be (very) CPU hungry for older computers, so there could possibly be a "Weather: Fancy" option which is the dynamic weather I've suggested, or "Weather: Fast" which is the default weather we have now in 1.8/1.9. This is a pretty big suggestion for a forum suggestion, I know, but I think it's still half-decent.
Barometers
It would be interesting, with the dynamic weather suggestion, for there to also be a craftable Barometer. How it works is;
It is a craftable item. It can be hung on a wall. The item, when hung, shows a dial, and under it an icon. That icon is either a cloud, a sun, a raindrop, or a lightning bolt.
Sun = Sunny, of course.
Cloud = Lots of clouds, overcast maybe.
Raindrop = Drizzle, mild flurries.
Lightning bolt = Bad rainstorm, thunderstorm, blizzard.
Crafting recipe:
Or anything else that would be good. Perhaps the redstone could be a compass, for the dial.
Better fishing
A reeling-in animation for fish, and perhaps some more dynamics to fishing itself. Constantly reeling could either get the fish in fast, or the fish could let go. Perhaps you need to reel and let it swim out a bit, like in real fishing.
Mob spawning
In Creative, mobs should also be able to be spawned, in a seperate tab from the items and blocks.
Last but not least... Multiplayer option: Pausing
This would be very useful, in my opinion. You know when you're in a multiplayer server, and you need to use the restroom, or walk your dog, or anything? You either need to dig a small hole or leave yourself vulnerable to everything. My idea is: When you press escape in multiplayer, there is an option within escape that says "AFK: ON/OFF" and clicking it to "On" will leave you completely invulnerable to the elements while you do your business. Your player will be frozen in position, turned half-transparent, and in smaller letters under your nametag it will say "PAUSED", until you either exit the Esc menu or toggle "AFK" off.

Good ideas!
The fact that we have nice smooth night to day could easily be made with clouds, and with the clouds it could just act like the night/day cycle :biggrin.gif:

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
How so? You would be unable to move as you would be in the Esc screen. You would also be invincible.
