I hear hardcore mode is coming out soon, and I'm very excited. But don't you think that a few new Challenges could be added to this mode? Simple things, that aren't too complicated to code, but would make people think they are facing something difficult. I thought up a few .
Torches burning out?
I think it could be cool if torches would burn out after, like, a few days or something. And you'd either need to add a new material to make light or re-light the torch.
Wood rotting?
I don't know. But maybe if wood is placed near a water source, or stays out for a while, it would turn darker and appear more broken, and then possibly gaining gravity and caving in roofs. When destroyed, it would not yield a new type of block, it would be just a regular wood plank block, or it couldn't appear at all.
Water erosion?
OKAY, I HAVE NO IDEA! But possibly, but very slowly, blocks around water would decay. Meaning that cracks would appear on them as if you were breaking it, but this would happen very slowly. Faster for dirt and sand, but very slow for stone, cobblestone or ores.
Creeper improvement?
Maybe, if enough man-made blocks are placed in one specific area, a creeper will go to the specific area and explode even if you aren't there, making it a risk to create a large shelter, this would happen very rarely though.
