I've always wanted the snowy biomes to be more... dangerous. Like the final frontier, a harsh unforgiving landscape. I'm yearning for their to be a need to stay warm. As in, you cannot survive the cold for too long without dieing from the cold.
The Arctic, in the real world, is the hardest biome on the planet to survive in! And we all love a challenge.
Think of the options it would give us. It would make the Tundras a bit more special.
-A unique experience in the Tundras.
-Craft-able Wool clothing to help stay warm, since this would use the armor slots, players would have to choose a balance of Warmth over Defense.
-Fires and furnaces, when in range, will warm the player back up. So keeping wood stocked for burning would become more important and NOT just for show.
-You all know how when you jump in water, we get bubbles. Ok, once you enter the tundra, snow flake icons appear above the food bar and begin to drain at a speed that depends on how well dressed you are, you'll naturally resist freezing at the cost of the food bar, so the arctic/tundra will require more food. (Which isn't TOO big of a deal)
-What happens when you freeze you might ask? Slowly...Your screen will "frost over" until you cannot see, and your hearts will slowly drain will you die.
Just something that came to be while in my little home in a snowy area in my world. I pictured it in my mind...and loved it.
Maybe you all will...or will not? Let me know!
Feel free to add ideas!

This seems like a good idea. As well as your screen "Freezing over", you should also walk slower, and slower, until you cant move unless you light a fire.

Friendliest wolfshark thing you'll meet. Maybe.
'Tis better to die for the Emperor than to live for yourself!

Oh I like that. :biggrin.gif: Perhaps some kind of shivering sound from Steve?

It would be fitting for the Arctic to be MUCH larger, to really be a challenge :biggrin.gif: Trees and plants could grow slower in this area as well?
Oh...seeing your breath, I like, little white square particles
Yea, making it more of a "frozen barren wasteland". Kinda like deserts. Also there should be penguins and seals, which you can get food and blubber from. The blubber being an alternate fuel?

Maybe, let's just shoot for the basics and then work on the details haha

I love it.
Posibly reduced movement speed while starting to freeze?
Oh that would be cool. Perhaps along with the ice tools I once saw as a mod. XD
Yeah yeah, reduced player speed.
Maybe, Rain To Thunder Storm
As to Snowing to Blizzard?
