So I was thinking that since of now(that I'm aware of) Leveling up and ender pearls have no use. But what if you combine EXP needed and amount of enderman pearls to level up skills that notch could think of, ex: cut wood faster, kill mobs faster, better durability. All of those are just examples, and to level up its like for a level 1 skill you need character level 1(or first exp bar w/e) 100EXP and 1 or 2 ender pearl. and then level 2 would be like 200EXP 1-2 ender pearls(or even 2-4), and lastly the skills would be like "kill 5% faster level 1, 10% faster level 2) bt these are all examples it can be harder to level these or even less % like by 1%'s not 5.
Stop. No, it shouldn't. Minecraft does not need anymore RPG elements added to the game, sure a use for the exp system but making it more like an RPG will probably ruin Minecraft. It doesn't appeal to most people anyways.

That would encourage grinding, something I find despicable in single-player games. Would you want to use a wooden pick for like 20 minutes before you can use a stone one? It makes no sense, gameplay-wise or realistically.
It should just be like it is on some bukkit servers, with different skills and attributes applying to different things. the higher level, the faster you complete that task. That way, when your trying not to waste your diamond picks durability, and your using a stone pick, when you've mined a lot it will still work effectively. But for adventure mode when you cant destroy blocks i really like some of your guys ideas.

If he does do that, he should make it so Adventure Mode is its own catagory, so it does mess with your survival mode
